Three Most Overpowered Builds in Last Epoch Right Now
Hi everyone, it’s Rex. I’ve been absolutely grinding this Last Epoch season harder than any previous one. I ended up making four full characters, but today I want to break down three of them that truly stand out.
One of them was originally a Righteous Fire-style Runemaster, but I ended up respeccing away from it because it just didn’t feel right for me. The other three, however, are some of the most powerful builds I’ve ever played in Last Epoch. Every single one of them has comfortably defeated Uber Aberroth, and the final build I’m going to show you is so absurd it basically deletes entire sections of the screen before enemies even get a chance to react. An ample supply of cheap Last Epoch gold can also be of great help to you.
I also want to give a quick shoutout to the Last Epoch team for this season. The corruption system has been one of the most enjoyable endgame loops I’ve played in any ARPG. All three builds I’m showing have full guides available on Maxroll, so here I’ll focus more on how they actually feel in practice rather than going deep into every stat.
Let’s get into it.
Build 1: Bladestorm Blade Dancer – The Shredder
This Blade Dancer is probably my “weakest” of the three, but that’s only in comparison to absolute insanity. Even this build comfortably clears 1,000+ corruption content.
The core idea is simple but extremely effective: you throw Blade Swarms that generate spinning Shurikens. These Shurikens orbit the swarm and deal massive overlapping damage. On top of that, you can also surround yourself with Shurikens, turning your character into a moving blender.
In practice, this build feels like walking through enemies and watching them evaporate. For tougher targets, you drop Smoke Bomb, step in, and everything melts instantly.
At high corruption, the build becomes almost unfair. I was clearing 1,000 corruption echoes without even using the full rotation—sometimes just walking enemies into the Shuriken aura is enough to kill them.
Key Gear Note
The most important piece for this build is a specific body armor obtained through dungeon farming. Without it, the build feels significantly weaker, and survivability drops hard. Once you acquire it, the rest of the gear progression becomes much smoother.
A red ring and corrupted Omnis setup later in the season pushed the build even further, but honestly, the baseline version already performs extremely well.
This build also excels at Uber Aberroth due to:
High mobility
Passive screen-wide damage
Extremely fast boss melting once Shurikens are stacked
Build 2: Lightning Rune Master – Spark Charge Machine
This character originally started as a Fire Aura “Righteous Fire” style build, but I ended up pivoting away from it. The main issue is that Fire Aura lacks proper customization compared to other skills, which makes it feel less satisfying.
So I transitioned into a Lightning Rune Master setup, and it completely changed the character.
The main gameplay loop revolves around Lightning Blast combined with Spark Charges. Every hit applies stacking charges that explode into massive chain lightning bursts. Once enemies are tagged, they basically detonate across the screen.
It looks chaotic, but it’s actually a very simple one-button style gameplay loop:
Cast Lightning Blast
Apply Spark Charges
Watch everything explode
Defensive Layers
Despite the damage focus, the build is surprisingly tanky thanks to:
Massive Ward generation (often reaching 10,000+)
Flame Ward for mitigation and emergency defense
Constant ward sustain through passive mechanics
Even though movement speed on my character is… questionable (I could not roll movement speed on boots for the life of me), the damage more than makes up for it.
Gear Highlights
One of the standout items is a perfectly rolled wand setup that dramatically boosts Lightning Blast scaling. I also experimented with a high-end crafted “ladle” weapon that pushed damage even further.
At high corruption (around 1,000+), the build still clears content incredibly fast. Occasionally, you can get one-shot if you misplay, but most encounters melt before they become dangerous.
Build 3: Shadow Rend Blade Dancer – The Screen Deleter
Now we get to the most ridiculous build of all.
Shadow Rend Blade Dancer is, without exaggeration, one of the most broken setups I’ve played this season. It’s essentially a one-button build that floods the entire map with shadow clones that independently cast abilities.
You press Shadow Rend, and the screen just… disappears.
How It Works
Shadow Rend spawns multiple shadow clones
These clones cast abilities automatically
The entire screen gets covered in overlapping damage zones
Enemies die instantly, often before animations even start
Smoke Bomb is mostly just used for movement. The real damage comes from the shadows themselves.
Even at 900+ corruption, this build clears everything instantly. Entire packs, bosses, and even high-end echo encounters get erased in seconds.
Why It’s So Strong
The strength comes from stacking multiple scaling systems:
Shadow scaling
Triggered spell effects
Massive area coverage
Overlapping damage instances
The result is pure visual chaos where enemies simply stop existing.
Gear Note
This is actually my least optimized character gear-wise, which makes it even more absurd. With proper min-maxing, this build could easily push even higher corruption tiers.
The key mechanic revolves around set bonuses and stacking attributes across multiple gear pieces, especially through a ring that rewards completed set effects with:
+Attributes
+All resistances
+Skill levels
When fully assembled, the build becomes borderline uncontrollable in terms of damage output.
Final Thoughts
All three of these builds can comfortably destroy Uber Aberroth, often in under two minutes with decent execution. What makes this season of Last Epoch so enjoyable is how many different broken interactions exist between skills, scaling systems, and corruption scaling.
Blade Dancer = fast, clean, and mobile shredding
Rune Master = explosive lightning ward caster hybrid
Shadow Rend = screen-wide deletion simulator
Each one feels powerful in a completely different way. A large amount of Last Epoch gold can also be of great help to you.
